See You At The Pole 2011
“Students Around The World, Doing Something Revolutionary”
September 28, 2011, the day students, parents, and teachers from all over the world join together at their school’s flag pole. Driven by a simple promise, and coming together to pray, for their school, for their friends, for their teachers, for their community, for their nation. This was the first opportunity I had to take part at our local school, and I believe the first time it has been held there. It was great to see the kids out bright and early, for a simple time of coming together as students from all over the world converged at their school’s flag pole to do the exact same thing! For more information and coverage of todays event, check out the See You At The Pole Website – HERE.
Driven by a simple promise: “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them.”

VBC Worship Through Flagging
This year at the Saddle Ridge Ranch VBC we had the opportunity to participate in worship through flagging. On the final community evening, the song Everlasting God was presented with the use of flagging. Thank you to Bill and Gail for coming all the way from Burlington to teach us about this, it was incredible to see the kids so engaged.

A Renewing Surprise
Renewing your wedding vows can be a very exiting time. Such was this case with this couple, who with the help of their children, pulled off a surprise ceremony, renewing their vows in their backyard after inviting family and friends over for a simple backyard get together. The ceremony was very meaningful as the couple renewed their vows in their faith, and their children stood by their sides. Congratulations Kaz Family!

Jesus Loves Me
I received this in an email, and just wanted to share the wisdom of the extra verses to Jesus Loves Me.
Senior version of Jesus Loves Me
92 YEAR OLD PREACHER
While watching a little TV on Sunday instead of going to church, I watched a church in Atlanta honoring one of its senior pastors who had been retired many years. He was 92 at that time and I wondered why the church even bothered to ask the old gentleman to preach at that age. After a warm welcome, introduction of this speaker, and as the applause quieted down, he rose from his high back chair and walked slowly, with great effort and a sliding gait to the podium. Without a note or written paper of any kind he placed both hands on the pulpit to steady himself and then quietly and slowly he began to speak....
"When I was asked to come here today and talk to you, your pastor asked me to tell you what was the greatest lesson ever learned in my 50-odd years of preaching. I thought about it for a few days and boiled it down to just one thing that made the most difference in my life and sustained me through all my trials.. The one thing that I could always rely on when tears and heartbreak and pain and fear and sorrow paralyzed me...
The only thing that would comfort was this verse..............
"Jesus loves me this I know.
For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong,
We are weak but He is strong......
Yes, Jesus loves me....
The Bible tells me so."
The old pastor stated, "I always noticed that it was the adults who chose the children's hymn Jesus Loves Me' (for the children of course) during a hymn sing, and it was the adults who sang the loudest because I could see they knew it the best."
"Here for you now is a Senior version of Jesus Loves Me":
JESUS LOVES ME
Jesus loves me, this I know,
Though my hair is white as snow
Though my sight is growing dim,
Still He bids me trust in Him.
(CHORUS)
YES, JESUS LOVES ME.. YES, JESUS LOVES ME..
YES, JESUS LOVES ME, FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.
Though my steps are oh, so slow,
With my hand in His I'll go
On through life, let come what may,
He'll be there to lead the way.
(CHORUS)
When the nights are dark and long,
In my heart He puts a song..
Telling me in words so clear,
"Have no fear, for I am near."
(CHORUS)
When my work on earth is done,
And life's victories have been won.
He will take me home above,
Then I'll understand His love.
(CHORUS)
I love Jesus, does He know?
Have I ever told Him so?
Jesus loves to hear me say,
That I love Him every day.
(CHORUS)

Forest Relay For Life 2011
It never ceases to amaze me how such a small town comes together so perfectly for this event! Such an amazing group of individuals, spending the night walking a track, no matter the weather - thankfully the rain only threatened briefly. But it’s not all work and no play – there is entertainment and food for all! It is a long dedicated night though, as I write this, the walkers are still have another 5+ hours out there in the dark, walking, laughing, remembering…thank you for your selflessness as you participate in this year’s annual Relay For Life!

Happy Anniversary My Ruphus!
Nine years ago today a wonderful change happened in my life – I married Ralph Edward Jennings – AKA – Ruphus, a name I’ve called him, after reading Romans 16:13 one Sunday morning - “My chosen in the Lord” This is also engraved in his wedding band. The past 9 years have flown by with many wonderful changes and sometimes very sad times. Nine years ago, we wrote our vows and said them to each other in front of family and friends - today I want to say my vows to you publically once again My Ruphus – I Love You, and I am so honoured to be your wife, thank you for changing my life in such a wonderful way!
Ralph, I believe with all my heart, soul and mind, that God has chosen you for me, and today in the presence of our family and friends, I give you myself. I promise to love you unconditionally, to respect you as the man God has chosen for me, and joyfully obey you as you lead our home, desiring always to give honour and praise to our God because I respect you and your integrity. I come to you with my need for your strength, your understanding, and your tender care - needs you have so lovingly developed in me by completely filling them for me. I will strive always to be the friend and wife that you need, to be your helper, and complete you, realizing that our relationship is exclusive of all others and is permanent in the sight of God. I will be greatly honoured to be your wife. I promise this to you for as long as we both shall live, or until Christ returns to take us home together.
Ralph, I ask you to receive this ring as a symbol of my love and as a constant reminder that I have chosen you above all others to be the one to share my life.

One Haitian’s Update

Evans Monsignac survived 27 buried underneath earthquake rubble, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti Photo: POLARIS
It really has not been that long at all since we first heard of the horrific earthquake that hit Haiti as the year 2010 began. The news was everywhere, and many people where dropping everything to raise funds, or go to Haiti in attempts to help and be used by other helping organizations. During that time you may recall that photographer/teacher Michael Andrew and friend Mathieu decided to do just that, and were able to help locate, gps tag, and deliver much needed supplies to orphanages in the severely shaken country. Shortly before Michael’s departure to return to the US he captured digital memories of an incredible miracle – the recovery of Evans Monsignac – the man who survived 27 days buried alive. Where is Evans now? Currently in a Florida hospital, still very very sick, but recovering, and eagerly looking forward to seeing his family. Evans was able to tell how he was able to survive the 27 days without food or water which had baffled everyone. See the report here. Thank you Michael for posting this update on your blog today. Note, the situation in Haiti has not, and will not rectify itself, you can still help in many ways, including providing clean safe drinking water, please check out how You Can Help. (please make a note with your donation "for Michael's Orphanages", to ensure that the purifier you just purchased goes directly to Michael's Orphanages.)

One Inspired, Encouraging Woman!
I really couldn’t tell you how I came across Pam’s site, but what I can tell you, is that it has been a regular encouragement to me. Pam - a Wife, Mom, Grandma, and retired photographer has a blog set up called “Inspired…365”, and today is my day to give a gift, so I’m sharing this blog with you so that you too can be encouraged! I have never met Pam, but I can see that she is creative, and I can just imagine her as an energetic go getter. She has a photography ministry – which I think is really cool, as she shares her talent and wisdom with others. I am a strong believer in sharing with others, what God has given you in talents, Pam does exactly this, and therefore I thought I would just share the love today :D Enjoy!
